You know, I think very few could actually understand how powerful of a story this ONE image manages to breath life into, especially if they're on the outside looking in, and I also think what immediately came to mind the instant I saw this was Be In The Mirror, the one soundtrack in Tekken 2 that manages to tell Kazuya's struggle better than the game itself.
Tekken Tag Tournament 1 was the game that solidified Kazuya as my favorite character in all of Tekken, and it was Tekken 3 that started it for me, but when I finally experienced Tekken 2, I realized how Kazuya is a more multi-dimensional than almost every other character in Tekken.
Ryo, as far as Tekken goes, I believe you are one of the few people, and definitely artists, who really understand the kind of Pain Of Loss that I personally feel Kazuya and Jun went through during Tekken 2.
The story of this particular work completely embraces the reason I came to really hate Devil and Heihachi.
Saying that, I've been aware of you for I don't know how long now, but after finally deciding to look through all of your artwork, and seeing the images of Kazuya and Jun, and definitely this one, I think I I should tell you something.
First off, I'm putting you on watch and I already favorited at least two of your works. Heheh.
Second, I have a fanfiction on Fanfiction(get it? ) about Kazuya and Jun of course. It's an alternative take on the whole Tekken series, and I might stop it at Three if there doesn't seem to be many watchers, but here is the important thing: Rather than Devil, a new personality is in Kazuya.
Devil may have been there in the beginning, but in my story, the primal need that I think any intelligent animal has, the will to live and survive, birthed a new...'thing' within Kazuya: A Monster.
Neither good or evil, this Monster is born from Kazuya's rage and hatred, and it overtook or 'consumed' Devil. It never wants to do anything so to speak, but it acts when it percieves a threat to Kazuya or it understands that something is bothering to outright stressing him. It can be considered as being a new consciousness born from the Devil Gene, and though like I said it's a bit neutral, when Kazuya gets furious enough, it has the chance of coming out.
I only have two chapters out because the idea came very recently, but telling you about it is the only way I can thank you for understanding Kazuya and Jun in the exact way I wish Namco would, because I haven't published any artworks at all...and I'm not good enough now to make something as a thank-you, Haha.
If you want to read it, you can message me for the title or look for it as you please.
Anyway, this whole text wall probably seems like a bit much, but no one else seems to understand your works very well, save for a select few, so these are my thoughts, haha.
Lastly, the idea of Kazuya's Monster, which is his new Devil Form in my story, was influenced by The Creature, the inner monster of the protagonist of a horror game called The Suffering, the first game, and maybe it's other variants in the second.
Now, the body, save for the head of Kazuya's Monster is a cross between that, Daedric Armor from Skyrim, and his original Devil Form. Rather than purple, his skin is Obsidian Black, and any other things would be red or white. His scar would definitely be red, and the white would probably be bone spikes. Also, he grows to seven feet in height in that form.
Of course his Devil Energy is still the classic purple, haha.
After telling you all THAT crap, perhaps you would like to....draw what you think Kazuya's monster looks like? Haha, I don't ask you to do this for ME at all, because your KazxJun pics are more than enough, but if you're interested enough, I would be glad to see you bring it to life.
Thanks again for doing this, and I'll be waiting to see what else you come up with, heheh. Also, I'm posting this comment with my Playstation Vita! T'was a bitch, but I got it!
